Why does the Tesla adapter have a pin sticking out?
All of our Tesla adapters are designed by Tesla. The pin does not prevent the connector from getting a tight and secure connection with your Tesla.
How do I know if my Tesla is compatible with the adapter?
Once plugged into your car, the symbol on the connector will turn Blue if the connection is successful and Yellow if it is not.
Most newer Tesla's are compatible with our Tesla-CCS adapters, while some older Tesla models do not support the use of this type of adapter.
You can check to see if your vehicle has CCS adapter support by going to your Tesla's control screen: 'Controls' -> 'Software' -> 'Additional Vehicle Information'.
What if my Tesla is not compatible with the Tesla-CCS adapters?
A software and/or hardware update may be needed on your Tesla. Please contact Tesla for further assistance.
Our Bedford-Stuyvesent charging hub offers two chargers (#24 and #25) with Tesla-CHAdeMO adapters. For Teslas not compatible with the newer Tesla-CCS adapters, this may work for your vehicle.
