What is Revel’s Distributed Fleet Program?
Revel offers eligible NYC TLC licensed drivers the option to rent a company-branded electric vehicle via third-party fleet partner(s) or through Revel’s commercial leasing company. Drivers will provide services on the Revel Rideshare platform with the leased vehicle with the option to take the vehicle home and use it off shift hours. Unlike other Rideshare companies, Revel drivers are employees which means they are paid by the hour, receive paid time off and access to healthcare benefits, and work with a dedicated in-person Driver Support staff.
What’s the difference between Revel’s Centralized fleet operation and the Distributed Fleet program?
Drivers of the Centralized fleet pick up a company vehicle at the start of their shift and drop it off at the end of their shift at one of our Superhub locations. With our Distributed Fleet program, the driver starts their shift at a specific work zone where they are assigned to take their first ride and ends their shift when they drop off their last passenger for the day. The driver can then utilize the vehicle for their personal use when off shift. Centralized fleet drivers do not sign a lease agreement; therefore, the vehicle is not theirs to use after work hours.
What is the process of joining the Distributed Fleet Program?
You first have to meet the qualifications of the Revel Rideshare driver role, which include: being 25 years or older, having an active TLC license for a minimum 1 year, and a DMV license for minimum 3 years (refer to the job description on our website). After you sign an offer of employment letter you will undergo a DMV and criminal background checks. Then, you would have to meet the leasing obligations and sign a lease agreement for a Revel-branded electric vehicle.
What type of vehicle will I be renting?
The current Revel-branded fleet consists of all-electric vehicles, specifically, Tesla models. Other electric vehicle models will be added to the fleet in the future.
Am I required to lease the vehicle for a minimum period of time?
There is only 1-week minimum rental period requirement. If you want to end the lease agreement after that you’re required to provide the leasing company with a 7-day notice.
What is the weekly cost of the lease agreement?
Depending on the specific lease agreement; currently, it is $550 per week, subject to changes.
What is covered under the weekly rental cost?
The weekly rental cost includes Repair (excluding excessive damage per the accident terms listed in the lease agreement) and preventive maintenance (excluding excessive wear and tear); liability insurance that meets TLC’s vehicle insurance requirements; TLC fees associated with the vehicle; and unlimited charging at any one of Revel’s fast charging Superhubs!
Is there a deposit required?
Yes. There is currently a $400 refundable deposit requirement upon signing the lease. The deposit will be used only under specific circumstances, such as: if you fail to meet your weekly payment, neglect to provide a 7-day notice when ending the lease, and will be drawn upon when there has been an accident while off shift.
How does vehicle insurance work?
All leased vehicles come with liability insurance that meets TLC’s vehicle insurance requirements. There is a $2,000 deductible per occurrence for any damages that occur while not on shift that is not paid for by the insurance.
How do tickets and tolls work?
We will cover the costs for all E-ZPass fines and other tolls issued while you are on shift. However, tickets for parking, moving violations (which include redlighting camera, and bus lane tickets), and any TLC summons issued to the leased vehicle or the driver are your sole responsibility at all times, even if on shift.
How and when do I charge the vehicle?
You are required to start your first ride with your leased vehicle sufficiently charged and cleaned in line with Company standards and policies. That means charging should be done during off hours, not during your shift. We pay you an additional $0.80 per hour (subject to change) to account for the average time it should take you to sufficiently charge and clean your leased vehicle OFF shift.
Revel provides all drivers with a radio frequency identification (“RFID”) card assigned to your specific rental vehicle. This charge card enables you access to unlimited charging at all Revel Superhub locations, included in your weekly rental price. Only you can use the RFID card and only for the purpose of charging the leased vehicle.
Am I required to wash the vehicle on my own time?
Yes. In accordance with Company policies, the vehicle should be cleaned and charged before the start of your shift to maximize the passenger experience and tips! We pay you $0.80 per hour (subject to change) to account for the average time it takes to sufficiently charge and clean your leased vehicle OFF shift. You should clean your vehicle while on shift only if necessary between rides (e.g. a customer spilled their drink in the vehicle).
Can I go on a road trip with the vehicle?
The vehicle may only be driven within and must remain within 50 miles of 630 Flushing Avenue, Brooklyn, New York 11206. All vehicles are equipped with GPS technology and if you violate this term you shall be fully responsible for any and all damage, theft, loss, or other property damage, and any maintenance or repairs and towing, incurred during, or necessitated as a result of, your violation.
Am I able to let someone else operate the vehicle?
No. The registered renter is the only authorized operator of the vehicle. You will be personally responsible for any accidents and/or tickets if the vehicle is operated by anyone other than you.
Can I use the vehicle to drive for other platforms?
No. You cannot use the vehicle to work on other rideshare, ridehail, mobility, or delivery services or platforms. You cannot use the vehicle to transport personal clients or street hailing either.
What if I am going on vacation, what happens to my rental?
If you are using your accrued paid time off your rental continues as normal. If you work less than 40 hours per week at any given week you might be required to use your accrued paid time off to meet your full-time obligation.
Requests for unpaid time off are generally unacceptable and will result in separation of employment. In case an unpaid time off request is approved, it may either result in the termination of the vehicle lease agreement, in which case the Company may convert you to a centralized fleet driver upon your return from leave or a pause on your lease agreement subject to a written lease amendment, depending on the circumstances and your lease terms.
What do I do if I get into an accident with the vehicle and/or there is damage to the vehicle?
If an accident occurs while you are on the shift you must notify us immediately by calling Revel Driver Support at (718) 305-1354 and via the Revel Driver Application by filing an issue alert. If an accident occurs and you are not on the shift you must notify Revel Driver Support within (2) hours. An agent will then advise you on the next steps whether to bring the vehicle to a specified facility, if operable, or if a tow truck will be dispatched to your location. Drivers are prohibited from bringing the leased vehicle to a repair workshop location unless specifically authorized by the leasing company.
How and when do I earn money by leasing a vehicle with Revel?

What is the driver shift schedule?
